Esmeralda Moya, Mayor

My Dear Citizens, your safety and well-being continue to be my top priorities. The 2019 Atlantic Hurricane Season will officially begin on June 1, 2019, and will end on November 30, 2019. I strongly encourage you and your family to register to the city’s Mass Notification and Incident Management System - Swift 911 to receive notifications and alerts. The City is well prepared and will be ready to work to get our city back up and running in the event of a serious impact. To assure a fast and effective response to you and your loved ones, I directed- The Office of Emergency Management, The Police Department and Fire Department to equip themselves with the necessary rescue equipment, including- Drones for Search & Rescue, Rescue Boats, High Water Vehicles, and Satellite Phones. In addition, The Alvin D. Baggett Community Building is ready to operate as a shelter for the city if needed.
My beloved citizens, with your support, I make one solemn promise: We will continue to build this great city, make it stronger, just, and more prosperous than ever before.
